Office 365 vs. Office Productivity Suite- Which version is right for you?

Office 365 is a subscription service for your PC, phone and tablet.  The subscription service includes updates so that you always have the latest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher (PC only), and Access (PC only). It also comes with 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage. OneDrive can be used as a backup for your files and it can be used to view/edit any of your files from your PC, phone or tablet.

Office Productivity Suites such as Office Home and Business 2016 are a one-time purchase for one computer. It includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. OneDrive can still be used to store up to 5GB for free. A free version of office can also be installed on your phone/ tablet. However, with the free mobile version you will only be able to view the files without making any changes.

So, which version is right for you? If you need to be able to access your files from multiple devices or if you want to always have the latest version then Microsoft Office 365 might be right for you. If not, then Microsoft Office 2016 has a larger upfront cost but will typically save you money in the long run.
